On Saturday, November 11 from 9am to 1pm at Burnside Park in Downtown Providence, students from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, in partnership with local community organizations, will provide basic health screenings, vaccines, HIV + Hep C testing, health history creation, overdose prevention training, and in-person connections to local clinics and resources to the Providence community.

Anyone in need of services, regardless of income or whether they have insurance, is welcome.

Volunteers will take blood pressures and measure glucose to detect diabetes, give flu shots and test for HIV + Hep C. Volunteers will also provide information on how to administer Narcan/naloxone to reverse an opioid overdose and will offer resources for documenting health history.

Partners from community organizations, including Clínica Esperanza, Rhode Island Free Clinic, House of Hope and the George Wiley Center will provide information to connect people to follow-up care, housing and utilities assistance.
