Well over 5000 people crowded the south lawn of the Rhode Island State House for the March for Our Lives rally. Sister events were held in more than 840 places around the world, the main event being in Washington DC. Inspired by the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida and the amazing activism of the student survivors there, a new wave of young people are calling for stricter gun laws and a renewed commitment to gun safety in the United States.
These events were “inspired by, created by, and led by students across the country who will no longer risk their lives waiting for someone else to take action to stop the epidemic of mass school shootings that has become far too familiar.”
Below are photos from the the event.
