The Executive Committee of the Rhode Island Democratic Party Women’s Caucus voted last night to endorse June Speakman in the special election for State Representative in District 68 (Bristol/Warren)

In addition to being an active member of the Women’s Caucus, June Speakman is a professor of political science at Roger Williams University and an active resident of Warren. She previously held elected office as a resident of Barrington, where she served on Town Council for fourteen years, including six years as Council President. As a resident of Warren, she has served on the Planning Board and worked with both elected officials and other residents on issues related to education, water supply, and the environment. She served on the Executive Committee of the Warren Democratic Town Committee and the 2016 Rhode Island Democratic Party Platform Committee. She is also an active board member of the Rhode Island Board of Housing Works

June Speakman is an immensely qualified advocate, and the Women’s Caucus is proud to endorse her based on her record of service to our organization, the East Bay, and Rhode Island as a whole. We look forward to seeing her work continue on Smith Hill.
