“I’ve seen your resume and it’s really impressive,” said Burrillville Attorney Michael McElroy to Invenergy expert witness George Bacon on Tuesday at the Energy Facilities Siting Board hearing on Tuesday to determined the fate of Invenergy‘s proposed $1 billion fracked gas and diesel oil burning power plant aimed at the pristine forests of north west Rhode Island. “You have a tremendous amount of experience working with power plants, correct?”
“I do,” replied Bacon. “It doesn’t make you very popular at parties, let me tell you.”
The room broke out in laughter.
“I hesitate to say this,” said McElroy, “My first five years of legal practice I was an attorney for the Tennessee Valley Authority.”
“My sympathies,” said Bacon.
“So I know what you’re saying,” said McElroy.
