Progressive candidate for Providence City Council Corey Jones shared the stage with Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos, a moderate Democrat seeking re-election, and Allen Waters, a Republican challenging United States Representative David Cicilline for the first congressional seat.

Also featured was Joshua Franco, who is considering a run for the Providence City Council Ward 12 seat.

Representing The People’s Academy, T. Michael Thomas and Tanisha Stephney were also given time to speak. The People’s Academy is a non-profit working “to empower Boston’s inner-city at-risk residents by training them in the trades of fabrication and installation of metal, particularly copper.” Thomas has been in discussion with Dantzler about bringing a version of that program to Rhode Island.
