Anne Frank died in a crowded detention center of an infectious disease.”

Following similar actions in Boston and Nationwide, Jewish activists with Never Again Action Rhode Island have projected a message onto the side of the training building at the Donald W Wyatt Detention Facility in Central Falls, Rhode Island.

A picture of Anne Frank accompanies the message “Anne Frank died in a crowded detention center of an infectious disease.” The projection calls on Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo to release everyone in ICE detention before it is too late, referring to the imminent danger these prisoners are in of a coronavirus outbreak.

Such outbreaks are already ravaging Riker’s Island in New York, and may soon worsen the public health crisis in Rhode Island.

As reported yesterday in Commonwealth, some ICE detainees are engaging in a hunger strike.
