Uprise RI proudly announces the launch of Omnix, a cutting-edge search engine designed to provide readers with unprecedented access to our vast archive of exclusive coverage and editorials.

Omnix represents a significant leap forward in how the public engages with local news. This powerful tool allows users to ask any question about any subject ever covered by Uprise RI and receive a direct answer, complete with links to the relevant article(s). No longer will readers need to sift through entire articles to find the information they seek; Omnix brings the answers directly to their fingertips.

Greg Brailsford, President of Uprise RI, expressed his enthusiasm for the launch, stating, “Despite limited resources, our technology stack is unrivaled in Rhode Island media, however we launched this capability with hopes that others will follow.” He continues, “While Uprise RI reports on far fewer stories than the mainstream media outlets, our archive is loaded with exclusive coverage and useful information.”

Brailsford extended a direct challenge to other media in the state: “We call on all major RI media organizations to provide this same functionality to their users. If Uprise RI can pull this off with a budget literally thousands of times less than these conglomerates, they should have no trouble doing the same.”

Omnix empowers Rhode Islanders to hold political leaders accountable by researching what local leaders have said about specific subjects, uncovering contradictions in their actions, and revisiting details about issues they care about. The search engine’s advanced capabilities allow users to discover articles that traditional search engines may miss, ensuring that no stone is left unturned in the pursuit of truth and transparency.

With Omnix, users can easily find answers to questions such as:

  • “Who was the developer that Elorza gave the sweetheart deal to? How much was it worth?”
  • “Has Uprise run any articles critical of Sam Bell?”
  • “Has Joe Sherkarchi made any statements about defunding the police?”
  • “Which Dunkin Donuts ran a promo that mentioned white Cranston people only?”

Omnix is now available in beta on upriseri.com, accessible through the search feature located in the lower left corner of the screen. Uprise RI invites all Rhode Islanders to experience the power of this groundbreaking search engine and join us in our mission to promote accountability and provide the public with the information they need to make informed decisions.
